Mersche Kotten Enfeoffment

3 November 1667 · Lütgendortmund, Deutschland

Re-enfeoffment of the kotten known as ‘die Mersche’ in the parish of Lütgendortmund for the benefit of the monastery of Marienborn

On 3 November 1667, Adolf, abbot of the abbeys of Werden and Helmstedt, certified that after the death of his predecessor, Abbot Heinrich, he again enfeoffed Johann Springorum under Dienstmannsrecht with the small holding known as "die Mersche" in the parish of Lütgendortmund. The enfeoffment was granted for the use and benefit of the monastery of Marienborn at Lütgendortmund. Johann Springorum and the convent of Marienborn formally acknowledged Abbot Adolf as their feudal lord.

Landesarchiv NRW (Abt. Westfalen), Kloster Marienborn, Urkunden D 114u Nr. 73: renewal of the enfeoffment of the kotten ‘die Mersche’ in Lütgendortmund (3 Nov 1667).
