Enfeoffment of the estate and kotten known as ‘die Mersche’ in the parish of Lütgendortmund in favour of the monastery of Marienborn

On 17 November 1671, Abbot Ferdinand of the abbeys of Werden and Helmstedt enfeoffed Johann Springorum, Primissarius in Bochum, under Dienstmannsrecht with the estate and kotten known as “die Mersche” in the parish of Lütgendortmund, for the benefit of the monastery of Marienborn. Johann Springorum swore the customary oath of fealty, pledging to conduct himself as a faithful vassal toward his lord. The charter was issued under the announced seal of the abbey and witnessed by members of the regional nobility and administration.
